Youth Marketeers and the Ministry of EL&I agree that education has a more important role to play in raising environmental consciousness among young people. Creative strategist Joost Oolders and a select team of environmentally minded youths took it one step further. Teachers don’t need a teaching method, the students do. The student becomes the teacher and gives a 10-minute class about biodiversity and how others can contribute. The youth campaign knows how to modify the school model so that students themselves take initiative. This way the message is presented in a different way and is more likely to be accepted.
Joost also invented the “Aware-O-Meter” for the Ministry of EL&I. The youth campaign presents an inventive tool that uses a picture to calculate what type of lifestyle users have and gives them health and lifestyle tips.
